A few updates about the golf course are listed below:
1.
Starting this weekend, we will open the range
tee and short game areas. Please
remember to hit practice shots pictured below (only good shots are allowed on
the practice tee).
2.
We are planning on stocking those thirsty water
cooler huts by the weekend.
3.
Small blue irrigation flags on the course are
indicators of new golf holes to putt and chip too. No they are just some of the ongoing
irrigation repairs that will be worked on this month.
4.
Hole #1 – we had an encounter with a vehicle
running the stop sign late at night and using the course as a new road or
trying to hunt down the new superintendent.
We will be gathering some bids for repairs and beginning to clean up the
mess and debris that was left behind for us.
5.
Hole #12 bathrooms will remain closed throughout
this weekend, but progress is being made.
We are waiting for a part to finish the plumbing repairs. We plan to pressurize early next week and
will begin the final phase in painting the rooms a fresh new lacquer.
6.
Hole #12 bunkers will remain as “Bunkers in
Repair/Ground Under Repair” for the time being.
We are meeting with a contractor to discuss options for repairs.
7.
Hole #13 – the fairway is still like driving a
pontoon boat on Okauchee Lake, well not that bad but I’d take one, nonetheless,
the fairway remains soft and ask to keep cart traffic off of it. By doing so, it will help us provide good
growing conditions into May and beyond.
8.
Lastly, we have canceled the spring aerification
on the golf course due to other spring projects and our weather conditions as
of late. Instead, we will be
verticutting the greens within the next few weeks and will target fall
aerification after Labor Day.
Quote of the Month:
Did you happen to see my April 3rd email on the course’s
availability. On the bottom was a
picture of Tiger Woods winning an event.
If only I would have had some extra cash like the gentleman that put
down $85,000 for Tiger to win the Master’s.
It only paid out $1.2 Million.
Stay tuned for my prediction for the US Open and PGA Championship.
