March Update

March is nearing a close and I’d like to provide an update on the courses’ availability.  In the last two weeks, the course has truly transformed from snow covered with 3” of ice underneath to full scale melting and thawing.  The Greens and Grounds Committee is targeting opening the first week of April.  We plan to update you as we know more.  In the meantime, the short course is available for play and the simulators are set up through March 30^th. 

Earlier this week, I went around checking the frost depths which were 3-5” below the greens surface.  The frost layer is an important factor in determining the opening of the greens.  Ideally, we would want the greens to have without frost, growing and firm enough for regular traffic.
